Key Benefits and Usage
-
- In Lambs: Vecoxan effectively prevents coccidiosis caused by Eimeria crandallis and Eimeria ovinoidalis. These parasites are known to cause severe intestinal damage and scours, leading to poor weight gain and potential mortality.
- In Calves: Vecoxan targets and prevents coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii. These strains can result in significant health issues, including diarrhea, dehydration, and impaired growth.
Product Formulation
Vecoxan is presented in a user-friendly bottle with a convenient harness and spouted cap, ensuring precise and easy administration. Each milliliter of Vecoxan contains:
-
- Diclazuril: 2.5 mg, the active ingredient that provides potent anticoccidial action.
- Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218): 1.8 mg, a preservative to maintain product stability.
- Propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216): 0.2 mg, another preservative ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of the solution.
Dosage and Administration
Vecoxan is designed for herds and flocks with a history of coccidiosis. In situations where there is no recent confirmed outbreak, it is recommended to conduct fecal sampling to confirm the presence of coccidia before treatment. The dosing regimen is as follows:
-
- Dosage: 1 mg of diclazuril per kg of body weight, which corresponds to 1 ml of the oral suspension per 2.5 kg of body weight.
- Administration: Administer a single oral dose directly to lambs and calves.
Withdrawal Period
Vecoxan has a zero-day withdrawal period for both lambs and calves, allowing treated animals to be marketed immediately without any delay.
Available Sizes
Vecoxan is available in the following sizes to accommodate different herd sizes and needs:
-
- 1 liter
